The following pages provide useful information for teachers and group leaders when planning and preparing for a visit to the National Park.
There is also advice for students of any age looking for more detailed information about the National Park.
National Park Rangers provide free educational activities to both schools and groups. Catering for all ages and abilities the inspiring programme provides links to a Curriculum for Excellence (pdf 38Kb)
The following are examples of activities organised by the National Park Ranger Service and how they link to topics from the National Curriculum. They are designed primarily for Higher Geography pupils; however, they can be adapted to suit the needs of Intermediate1 and 2, and Advanced Higher courses.
Rangers also offer an outreach programme of fun, hands-on outdoor activities and can visit your school or group in and around the National Park.
The landscapes, habitats and communities of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park create the ideal outdoor classroom providing real learning experiences. Activities are designed to promote an increased understanding of the importance of this special place, and as a consequence, a more responsible approach by those that visit. This will lead to the protection, enhancement and conservation of the Special Qualities and a more sustainable National Park.
