The transition from lowland to highland Scotland is defined by the Highland Boundary Fault which cuts across Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park giving a landscape of striking contrasts. As a consequence, the Park holds a range of highland and lowland habitats and a spectrum of habitat types from mountains and moorland to the marine and coastal environment.
