Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park - Welcome

Walk in the Park

Have you ever thought it would be a good idea to get out more and enjoy the fresh air but never had the confidence to go it alone?
Then why not come along to the weekly walking groups in Callander and Aberfoyle. The walk programmes on offer are organised in blocks of 10 weeks and information is available at local doctors’ surgeries, pharmacies, the McLaren Leisure Centre, shops and places of interest.
The walks are short (approx 30 – 45 minutes) and are aimed at people who haven’t exercised for some time, who are recovering from illness or an operation and for groups such as Mother and Toddlers to get out and enjoy the fresh air. They are very informal and there is no requirement to register in advance.
Regular exercise and becoming more active can provide the following benefits:
A healthier heart and help with weight loss
Improved mood and less depression and anxiety
Increased confidence and the opportunity to meet new people

All walks are free and are led by a trained walk leader. They are short in duration, on pavements or hard surfaced footpaths, buggy friendly and don’t involve any mountaineering!

Please note that walks in Aberfoyle will cease following 25 March 2010.
