Demand Responsive Transport Services Update

Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) is the latest innovation in public transport in the National Park, connecting rural areas with existing transport links. Transport is provided in a mini-bus, private hire car or taxi and is charged at the low price of a bus fare.

DRT services will continue to be delivered by Aberfoyle Coaches Ltd, as principal contractor, and by their authorised sub-contractors: Kingshouse Travel (Balquhidder Area), Crescent Cabs (Strathard Area), 24/7 Cars (Killin & Strathfillan Area) and Morgan’s (Trossachs Area). There is also a DRT service in Fintry.

The operating areas will remain as at present, with the exception that the Trossachs Area will be expanded to allow journeys between Aberfoyle, Port of Menteith and Callander and between Thornhill and Callander. This extension will replace bus service C29 Aberfoyle -Callander, which will be withdrawn following operation on Saturday 31 March 2012.
