Environmental Information
Under the Environmental Information (
The definition of “environmental information” is very wide, and includes written, visual, aural, electronic or any other material information relating to the state of the elements of the environment; factors which affect or are likely to affect the environment; measures and activities which affect or are likely to affect the environment, and any economic analyses pertaining to such measures and/or activities; reports on the implementation of environmental legislation; and the state of human health and safety insofar as it may suffer an adverse effect as a result of any factor affecting or likely to affect the environment, or any measure and/or activity affecting or likely to affect the environment.
We would ask anyone who wishes to submit a request for environmental information to do so by filling out our Freedom of Information Request form, although the Regulations permit an application for information to be made verbally. The Authority is entitled to charge a fee for complying with any Environmental Information Request which requires the provision and copying of information outwith the scope of any public registers or lists of environmental information.
