Free Event for Forth Valley Tourism Businesses
28 December 2009
Tourism businesses in Forth Valley are being invited to a free networking
evening to hear details about a new promotional campaign for the area.
Forth Valley Tourism Partnership – which brings together public bodies and the
private sector – is hosting the event in the newly refurbished Doubletree by
Hilton Dunblane Hydro Hotel on Thursday 7 January 2010 from 6pm to 8pm. A light buffet will be served.
The Partnership chairman, Councillor Adrian Mahoney, said: “The evening will be
a great opportunity to network, hear about our spring promotional push – and
give us useful feedback. Working together, we can attract more tourists to the
Forth Valley area and boost our local economy.
“Anyone interested in attending should register through Teri Meagher at
VisitScotland, by calling 0131 472 2017 or sending an email to:

The event will include the screening of a short film, showing tourists in a key
target group talk about their lifestyles, travel habits and what motivates them
to come to Scotland.
Councillor Mahoney said: “We’ll also show VisitScotland’s Perfect Day cinema
advert, and introduce local businesses to a new ‘Perfect Day in Forth Valley’
promotion that will aim to reach 28,000 potential visitors this Spring.
“We’re hoping visitor attractions, accommodation providers – and others
involved in local tourism – will come along, network, enjoy the buffet and
presentation, and share their passion and ideas for the area. Already dozens of
local tourism operators have signed up to attend. If you’re interested in
joining them, register today as places are limited.”
The Tourism Partnership includes all three local councils in the Forth Valley
area – Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire - as well as VisitScotland, the
Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, Scottish Enterprise, British
Waterways, Historic Scotland and the private sector. The group was launched
last summer with an event in the Inchyra Grange Hotel, in Polmont.
