Tourism Network Launch! 09/06/09
Hi,
On Monday we launched our
new Tourism Network with an evening event at Carrochan. There was a fantastic
turnout with a diverse range of tourism business from across the Park
attending.
The night provided an ideal forum
for local businesses, our Board members and our tourism team to chat about the
challenges and opportunities faced by the Park tourism industry during the
credit crunch.
It was wonderful to hear
such open discussion and enthusiasm for working together to boost business in
the Park during this difficult economic time.
My colleagues and I spoke
about our commitment to working with our local businesses and communities to
enhance and promote this wonderful part of Scotland as a premier tourist
destination.
We also highlighted some of
the initiatives we have been implementing to benefit both visitors and local
businesses. We’ve got a terrific new visitor friendly website, our Rangers are
out and about at all the key tourist hotspots in the Park and we’re increasing our
range of free leaflets highlighting all the brilliant things visitors can see
and do here.
The evening was a great
success and hopefully the beginning of a fruitful relationship for everyone
involved! We plan to hold a follow up event at the end of the season to provide
an update on our progress and to hear how the season has gone.
As part of our Tourism Network we are building a new tourism database for business in the Park. If you would like to be added to receive information about events and what's going on in Park tourism, please email
