We are extremely proud to be hosting the Glasgow 2018 European Championships Open Water Swimming taking place at Loch Lomond this summer.
The Festival 2018 Our Place Fund is awarding £120,000 to community groups to arrange cultural events and arts activities in their own area before and during the Glasgow 2018 European Championships.
From this £10,000 has been allocated for the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park and West Dunbartonshire area. We are inviting local community groups to apply for a share of this fund to put on cultural events and arts activities in and around Balloch, Loch Lomond, on Saturday 11th August, to complement a programme of activities which is being organised to provide a fun festival atmosphere. Festival 2018 encourages proposals that will help bring people together to celebrate our communities and places, and we welcome your inspirational ideas. These might involve local groups working on art workshops, music or street theatre. A community procession is also being planned that you may want to take part in.
People in the local community will choose by voting, either online or in person, which projects are funded.
Further details will be published on this page as the programme is finalised.
