Piers & Pontoons

Update for boating businesses – Investment in piers & pontoons on Loch Lomond

After a short tender process, we have appointed contractor Shearwater Marine Services Ltd to carry out essential upgrading work to eight piers and pontoons maintained by the National Park Authority.

The work is necessary to ensure the longevity of the structures so that they can continue to be used for many years to come. The piers and pontoons which will undergo maintenance at this time include:

  • Tarbet Pier
  • Inversnaid Pier
  • Inchcailloch – Port Bawn Pontoon and North Jetty
  • Drumkinnon Bay Pontoon
  • Inveruglas Pontoon
  • Luss Pier
  • Duncan Mills Memorial Slipway

The work began on Monday 19 February and we expect it to be completed by the end of March, in time for the busy summer season.

We do not anticipate any major disruptions while work is ongoing; however, there may be occasions when partial or full closures are unavoidable. If this happens we will work closely with the contractors to keep disruption to a minimum. We ask that anyone using the piers or pontoons take extra precaution while the maintenance work is being carried out.
