Hazel Sorrell was an elected councillor for West Dunbartonshire Council (Lomond Ward) and prior to this she worked with disabled adults. Hazel stood for election to better represent vulnerable people.
She has lived her entire life on the doorstep of the National Park and has good local knowledge of the surrounding area. Hazel has two grown up children and lives with her husband Alan in Haldane.
One of Hazel’s main areas of focus is to make sure local people in Balloch, Alexandria and Haldane have a better understanding of the work of the Park Authority and find ways to maximise the economic benefits National Park status can bring to the area.
She was appointed to the Board on 1 October 2012 for a period of five years.
