Balloch Village Plans Exhibition: Wednesday 7th June

The LIVE in Balloch partners will be sharing the outline designs for the Balloch Village Plans project at an exhibition at the National Park Headquarters on Wednesday 7th June between 5pm and 8pm, with presentations at 5.30pm and 7pm.

We would encourage everyone to come along to have a look at the outline designs and hear about the next steps, even if you haven’t been involved before.

As well as showcasing the outline designs, the exhibition will:

  • Summarise the community engagement since the ‘Live in Balloch Charrette’;
  • Report back on the recent consultation; and
  • Outline the next steps in taking the project forward into detailed design.

Since September 2016 a huge amount of work has gone into developing these design proposals with the local community and businesses at various events, workshops and meetings. We have been delighted with the level of enthusiasm shown throughout this entire process and this has formed the basis of the outline design.

The process has looked at improving areas around the station and in the town centre and aims to create a:

  • High quality, distinctive and welcoming space between the train station and the tourist information centre
  • People friendly village centre with slower traffic speeds and more places to linger and sit.

The design, developed by Sustrans, is now being handed over to West Dunbartonshire Council who will develop detailed designs for delivery. We look forward to hearing your thoughts!

LIVE in Balloch is a partnership between Sustrans Scotland, West Dunbartonshire Council and Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Find out more at www.liveinballoch.com
