Aberfoyle Native Woodland Awareness Day

Saturday 16th March 2019, 10am – 4pm
Aberfoyle Parish Church

Cuilvona and Craigmore Woods are the back garden of Aberfoyle. These wonderful woods are so special they have been designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), and are also a part of the Trossachs  Woods Special Area of Conservation (SAC).  One of the main threats to these woodlands is the spreading presence of invasive rhododendron.

Join us to find out about the importance of Celtic rainforests and the threats they face.

There’ll be activities for all ages  and fun for all the  family. Snacks and hot drinks will be provided on the day.

What’s involved?

  • Find out about what makes your local woodland special.
  • Join in with family woodland activities such as guided woodland walks or wood crafts.
  • Lend a helping hand to start removing invasive rhododendron from the church grounds.
  • Refreshments provided. Waterproofs and wellies recommended!

Please note that all children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
