Increased fire risk in the National Park

05.05.2017

Please be aware that due to the recent fine dry weather we’ve had, there is an increased risk associated with camp fires or barbecues in the National Park.

If you are planning on having a fire or using a barbecue, please exercise extreme caution and:

  • Ensure they are situated well away from trees and vegetation – preferably on a rocky or sandy beach next to water.
  • Keep fires small and thoroughly extinguished before you leave – fires can reignite if not properly soaked with water.
  • Properly cool and responsibly dispose of disposable barbecues.

If you are in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park please ensure that you follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code (SOAC). Find more information on lighting fires on Outdoors Access Scotland‘s website.
