Our people on the ground

Our Ranger Service

Our Rangers, including full time, seasonal and volunteers, provide a professional service to visitors and all those who live and work in the Park. Their patrols, totalling over 9,000 hours on land and water in 2015-16, provide information and assistance, ensure visitors remain safe and behave responsibly. Over 600 of those hours were support for educational activities and events.

Working in Partnership with Police Scotland

Working in partnership with Police Scotland we continue to work on Operation Ironworks, which aims to tackle issues associated with antisocial behaviour. Last year, almost 500 hours of additional policing was funded in the Park.

We also support a seconded police officer and two special constables through the Employer Supported Policing Scheme. Our two special police constables provide around 200 hours of cover between April and September on Operation Ironworks and visitor management duties, as well as duties relating to wildlife crime.
