Loch Lomond is the largest body of freshwater in mainland Britain. The loch, its islands and shores are used by visitors throughout the year for a range of recreational interests, including boating, water-skiing, sailing, canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, fishing and camping.
There is a need to balance environmental, economic and social pressures on Loch Lomond; to ensure that the loch can be enjoyed safely and responsibly; and to prevent the things that make it special from being over-used or degraded.
Before launching on Loch Lomond please familiarise yourself and passengers with the Loch Lomond Byelaws and register your vessel or as a user. Our Ranger Service is available at the Duncan Mills Memorial Slipway to offer any guidance and support, and you can view frequently asked questions here.
