How we perform

We annually review our performance (statistically and qualitatively) and publish a document known as the Planning Performance Framework (PPF).  It represents a holistic view of our performance, full of case studies, an overview of our statistics and a list of service improvements for the coming year and a report on the delivery of our service improvement targets from last year’s PPF.

The Scottish Government uses this report to consider our performance against agreed national markers and it is used as a framework by planning authorities across Scotland as part of the ‘drive towards consistently high quality planning service across the country’.

The highlights of this year’s report include:

  • Passivhaus development in Drymen
  • National Park Place Programme – Tarbet
  • Board member and staff training – induction and NPF4
  • Performance Improvement project – continuing our work to improve determination times

Other improvements and updates include:

  • New and updated planning guidance
  • A new system for handling Short Term Let enquiries
  • update on our integrated approach to Strategic Plan preparation, including Local Place Plans
