The Trossachs Explorer is back, with an expanded pilot running 7 days a week from 7th July to 5th October, connecting people to the National Park from more places.
91% of the 5,000+ passengers surveyed who used the service last year, said they’d use it again. We’ve listened to your feedback and are delighted to bring The Trossachs Explorer back this summer, with an expanded route now starting from Drymen, with more connections to other public transport services, a new local operator, more accessible buses.
Run by local operator McColls, the service features two low-emission, modern buses running seven days a week between Drymen and Callander, stopping at popular visitor destinations including Aberfoyle, The Lodge, Ben Venue, Loch Katrine, Ben A’an, Brig o’ Turk and Kilmahog (for Ben Ledi).
Use the live bus tracker from the McColls website to see where the Trossachs Explorer is on its route in real time.
The service features improved connectivity with coordinated timetables linking existing bus services to and from Killin, Stirling, Glasgow, Alexandria and Balloch, as well as Loch Katrine sailing times.
The Trossachs Explorer is part of ongoing efforts by the National Park Authority to provide sustainable travel options, reduce congestion, ease parking pressures and help visitors and residents connect and protect the National Park’s special environment.
By using the shuttle bus and telling us what you think, you’re helping us to continue to test and learn what works when it comes to providing more sustainable, accessible transport options in the National Park. Please share your feedback by completing this survey.
