What are permitted development rights?

If you would like to make small alterations or extensions to your property, planning permission isn’t always required. This is known as ‘permitted development rights’.

You can find out if your planned development is classed as a permitted development or if you require planning permission by viewing this guidance and checklist from the Scottish Government. However, if you are in any doubt then please complete our householder enquiry form or contact us on 01389 722024 or planning@lochlomond-trossachs.org.

Remember, even if planning permission is not required, other consent may be, for example Listed Building Consent or a Building Warrant.  Your local council will deal with building warrant enquiries but we would deal with any Listed Building enquiries.
