Community Council share their perspective on the Balloch Charrette

The Balloch Charrette Action Plan produced for our community highlights many concerns raised by our community and provides a series of challenging projects for West Dunbartonshire Council, the National Park Authority & Scottish Enterprise.  There is an important role for the community also in implementing these.

As a member of the Community Council I am hopeful that local residents and businesses will respond positively to the implementation of the Charrette projects. These will ensure Balloch’s development as an attractive and prosperous area to live and work, where tourists will want to stay to share in the many attractions and facilities and explore the National Park.

Optimism and enthusiasm are high at present within the Community Council and we need to ensure that this is engendered in the local community. To this end we intend to organise a public meeting in the Autumn, with help from the National Park Authority, where residents and businesses can be updated on progress made to date.

We wish to ensure that all residents of Balloch are aware of the work soon to be carried out and urge everyone to read the various projects outlined in the action plan, of which we encourage the maintenance of high standards of public spaces.
