Statement on West Riverside and Woodbank House planning application

The public hearing and Board meeting to determine the planning application for the proposed development at West Riverside and Woodbank House, Balloch will take place at Alexandria Parish Church Hall on Tuesday 24th September 2019.

To allow National Park Board Members to gain a greater understanding of the application, a site visit will also take place on Monday 23rd September. A site visit provides the best opportunity for Members to fully understand the context and characteristics of the site and how the development proposals relate to these. This is standard procedure for an application of this scale and complexity. No discussion on the merits of the proposal or decision on the application will be made during the visit.

The Officer’s report of recommendation on this application will be published in early September. Once the report has been published on our website, those who have submitted formal comments on the application will be notified and given details on how they can request to speak at the public hearing. Only those people who have made a written representation to the National Park Authority prior to the Officer’s report being published can request to speak at the public hearing.

Careful consideration is being given to the arrangements for the hearing in recognition of the high level of interest in the application.

Further details about the site visit, public hearing and determination meeting will be published on our website and social media as soon as they are available.
