Business Barometer

The National Park Authority has identified that there is a need for a better understanding of how tourism is performing and what are the trends affecting tourism. With this valuable information the National Park Authority and businesses across the Park will be able to identify opportunities and threats that could affect the visitor economy.

The barometer is designed to ask businesses their views on tourism in the local area and their feelings about their business within the quarter. It will be issued every three months to help build trends and an overall picture of the visitor economy in the National Park. It should only take ten minutes to complete, doesn’t ask for detailed figures and is confidential.

The data from the results will provide Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park with a view of tourism in the region and how best to support issues and exploit opportunities.

Everyone who completes the barometer will have access to the results, which will be aggregated for the full region and broken down into four local areas and by business type. It is the first time this type of data has been collected for the region and it will be invaluable in helping plan for the future.

If you would be interested in taking part or would like more information please contact Sheila.henderson@lochlomond-trossachs.org in the first instance.
