Supported by the Scottish Government, the Climate Action Hubs network has 24 hubs across Scotland. Four of these hubs are located in the National Park. They provide training, funding and opportunities to collaborate and share knowledge, enabling local people to work together and tackle the climate emergency and its impacts in ways that meet the needs of their communities.
ABCAN is a collaboration of Argyll Countryside Trust, Time for Change, and the Third Sector Interface, supporting individuals, communities, businesses, and public bodies across Argyll and Bute to lead local climate action and build a sustainable, climate-resilient future.
As well as providing Carbon Literacy Training, exploring how a local food system can reduce climate impacts, and supporting youth action, this hub has awarded over £82,000 in seed funding to support community-led ideas – like the Climate Action Film Festival to inspire and educate local communities about the importance of protecting our planet.
Hosted by FEL Scotland, Forth Valley Climate Action Hub are one of the largest, taking in the regions of Stirling, Falkirk, and Clackmannanshire, catering for a population of c300k.
They facilitate and support community climate action through community development, advice and signposting, collaborative working, and grant support. Key achievements include, more than £160k in funding issued for the development of key projects and initiatives, such as Trees for Goals that plants one tree for every goal scored by participating grassroots football clubs.
WDCVS Climate Action Hub aims to empower West Dunbartonshire communities to be more climate aware and deliver their own climate action initiatives through support sessions, events and funding. Funding has supported many projects, including for youth engagement charity Y Sort It for the delivery of an outdoor explorers’ club for children and families.
Built on a strong history of supporting community climate action with Perth & Kinross Council, Climate Connect – Perth & Kinross connects local people through established and emerging community networks which are taking action for nature, food, energy, transport and zero waste as well as the local Climate Café® Network.
