Planning application for temporary use of south access as principal public access to Cameron House resort

This application was submitted by Cameron House Ltd in the context of anticipating the reinstatement of the hotel and resort following the tragic fire of December 2017.

After careful consideration of representations made by both the applicant and members of the public, National Park Authority Board members made the decision to approve the planning application for the temporary use of an upgraded southern access off Old Luss Road in Balloch as the principal entrance /exit for business traffic during the reinstatement work to the hotel. Construction traffic would use the existing main access off the A82.

The planning permission is for a maximum of two years or on completion of the restoration of the hotel, whichever is soonest.

During this time it was agreed additional traffic calming measures will be in place on Old Luss Road. The applicant has also committed to carrying out resurfacing work on the pavement and to upgrade street lighting.

Cameron House is a very popular and historic resort and this temporary change of use of its south access will support the continued operation of the holiday lodges, marina, restaurant, golf course and sea plane flights whilst the reinstatement of the hotel is undertaken.

The planning application is available to view here http://eplanning.lochlomond-trossachs.org/OnlinePlanning/?agree=0 (ref: 2018/0157/DET)
