Iain Shonny Paterson was appointed to the Park Authority Board on 9th November 2020 by Scottish Ministers following nomination by Argyll and Bute Council.
Iain Shonny Paterson, known as ‘Shonny’ grew up in Arrochar and has returned here to live and work. His working history includes time as an agricultural contractor and welder fabricator. He currently runs a business in Arrochar working with people with learning difficulties, mental health issues and physical disabilities through providing outdoor activity opportunities and respite care in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.
Shonny is a member of the Arrochar Mountain Rescue team, he is proud and privileged to be a member of an organisation where all members volunteer their time to assist those in need.
During the Coronavirus pandemic Shonny has worked with the Arrochar and Tarbet Development Trust to provide assistance to members of the community.
Shonny stood in the Argyll & Bute Council elections in 2017 as he has always wanted to serve the community and is now looking forward to continuing this role as a member of the Park Authority Board.
