Expression of interest

The Place Programme Fund is a targeted capital fund intended to help partners such as development trusts, public bodies and third sector organisations progress and deliver projects that directly contribute to infrastructure priorities identified in the Place Programme Delivery Route Map.

Funding is focused on priority locations and capital projects with a clear strategic fit, including design-stage development that can help unlock future investment.

The Fund has a strong emphasis on partnership delivery, match funding and project readiness. Priority may be given to projects, or clearly defined project phases, that can be delivered and completed by 1 February 2027.

Expressions of Interest are welcomed at any time, with full applications required no later than 1 September 2026.

Successful applications are expected to be awarded by early October 2026.

Bracklinn Bridge

As part of our Place Programme work, a replacement Bracklinn Bridge was completed in February 2023, providing spectacular views of the Bracklinn Falls and a means to complete the full Bracklinn Falls Circuit.

A bridge has existed here since at least the early 18th century and the picturesque site demanded a sensitive design response to context as well as a resilient technical solution.

The new bridge is made from ‘weathering’ steel which will develop over the next few months and gives it a distinctive colour. The material was selected due to its longevity – giving up to 120 years design life – and the bridge is rated as highly sustainable due to the efficient design and use of materials.

Bracklinn Falls is a stepped waterfall in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, formed by the Keltie Water north-east of Callander. The site is a remote but popular visitor destination with paths following the river on both sides forming a 5km circuit between upstream and downstream crossings.
