Royal Highland Show – thank you!

The LIVE Park team are just back from a brilliant weekend talking to visitors at the Royal Highland Show.

The sun was shining (most of the time) and we got the chance to speak to a whole host of people from all across the country, many of whom visit the Park.

We even had a visit from Paul Wheelhouse MSP, Minister for the Environment and Climate Change at the Scottish Government.  He was keen to hear how the LIVE Park consultation was going, what the reaction had been so far, and how using Lego was helping us to engage with people about planning.

Recently, we’ve spent a lot of time speaking to people who live in the Park about the ideas and options proposed in our Main Issues Report, going to the Royal Highland Show to talk about LIVE Park allowed us a chance to speak to visitors, another key audience in our consultation.  It’s important that people who come here to visit have the chance to say how they’d like to see the area improve.  We want them to have a brilliant experience and planning policies like the ones LIVE Park is consulting on right now can help make that happen more easily.

There was lots of families at the Show so our #LIVEparkLego kept everyone entertained.  Our #LIVEparkLego table kept kids entertained and while they did that we got a chance to speak to their parents about why we’re so keen to get their views.  Here’s the twins from Dunblane looking super-chuffed with what they built at the LIVE Park area.  We spoke to their mum, who works in Callander about some of the proposals for the area, and explained how she could have her say on them.

Some of the bigger kids enjoyed trying out our GIANT Lego too….

Over the weekend we spoke to lots of people about the LIVE Park consultation to make sure as many people as possible take the opportunity to have their say.  It was interesting to hear why people come to the Park, what makes it special for them and what they’d like to see improved.   Here’s Katie, from Glasgow talking to us about St Fillans and Balmaha:

Were you at the Show? Did you come and visit the LIVE Park area? Do let us know what you thought.
