Signage proposals to go on display in Balloch

Building on the recent Balloch Village Plans (Street Design) project, Sustrans Scotland is working in partnership with West Dunbartonshire Council and Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park to propose three types of signage throughout the village.

These are:

  • Gateways to create a sense of place and provide landmark entrances to either side of the village;
  • Information signage to provide direction within the village; and
  • Re-routing the National Cycle Network along Balloch Road to Balloch Country Park.

A fourth proposal is a piece of Community Artwork in the station area which could be designed in collaboration with the local community and the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. At this stage, interested parties are being asked to register their interest.

You will be able to view and comment on the signage proposals from Monday 5th March to Tuesday 20th March using the following methods:

Public Locations

There will be a public display of the design proposals outside the Tourist Information Centre, train station and Moss O’Balloch Park.

Feedback forms will be available inside the Tourist Information Centre, National Park Headquarters and Balloch Library to allow you to submit your views into a secure comment box.

Opening hours:

Tourist Information Centre: Monday to Sunday (10am-5pm)

National Park Headquarters: Monday to Friday (8.30am-5pm)

Balloch Library: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (9.30am-5pm); Tuesday (1.30pm-8pm); Saturday (9.30am-1pm)

Drop-in event

Come along to the National Park Headquarters on Tuesday 20th March anytime between 5pm and 8pm to view, comment on and talk through the signage proposals with members of the project team. There will also be an opportunity to register your interest in the Community Artwork piece, get an update on the overall public realm improvement project from West Dunbartonshire Council and wider ‘Live in Balloch’ Charrette actions from Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.
