16 September 2024 National Park Authority Board Meeting

A meeting of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority Board was held at Lomond Parish Church on Monday 16th September 2024.

This meeting was used to determine planning application 2022/0157/PPP relating to land at Pier Road, Ben Lomond Way and Old Luss Road, known as West Riverside and Woodbank House (Lomond Banks), Balloch.

This meeting was accessible for members of the public to attend in person and the meeting was livestreamed on our website for members of the public to view.

A Site Visit for this planning application took place on the morning of Monday 16th September 2024 prior to the Hearing and Determination Meeting.

Hearing and Determination Meeting

The hearing and determination meeting took place from 13:15hrs at Lomond Parish Church, Balloch, G83 8RJ.

The National Park Authority produced a Process Framework Document to outline the key dates and processes relating to this meeting.

The procedures for determining the planning application were approved by the Board on Tuesday 16th July 2024 and can be found here. These include the procedures for the site visit, hearing and determination meeting.

The National Park Authority received 13 applications to speak at the hearing for this planning application (all of which were valid) – 5 in support and 8 in objection to the proposal. We suspended our usual procedures to allow all those who applied to speak to do so, in order to reflect the higher-than-usual level of interest. 2 confirmed speakers subsequently withdrew their applications to speak.

All speakers had 5 minutes and questions from Members followed.
