National Park Camping Byelaws Review 26/27 – Consultation Survey
A public consultation where anyone could share their views on proposed changes to the Camping Management Byelaws ran between Monday 29 June and 23:59 on Monday 21 September 2026 and is now closed.

A 12-week public consultation took place from Monday 29th June – 23:59 on Monday 21st September 2026.

We want everyone to be able to share their views. For those who needed this consultation in a different format or required assistance filling it out, alternative formats were available:
- Easy read version.
- Word document version: You could pick up a printed Word version at any of our National Park buildings or local libraries. Alternatively, we would happily post a copy directly to your home.
- Complete the survey with us: If you preferred to fill out the survey over the phone or via email, a member of our team was available to guide you through it.

How we looked after and processed your data
Any personal data submitted to us through this consultation was processed by the National Park Authority in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018, in line with our privacy policy. Some of the data collected through this survey was also processed by our external consultants for this project, Kevin Murray Associates (KMA).
KMA has been commissioned to help analyse consultation responses on behalf of the National Park Authority, to provide an independent recommendations report that will inform work to finalise proposed revisions to the Camping Management Byelaws which will be presented to Scottish ministers.
Prior to being processed by KMA, your response was entered into our online systems and your name and email address was removed. Your name and email addresses were be retained by the National Park Authority solely for the purpose of contacting you about your consultation response if necessary. Data including your location (first half of your postcode), the name of any organisation you are representing and other answers to this consultation questionnaire were made available to KMA for the purpose of their analysis.
Following the consultation, all responses will be anonymised (all personal details removed), collated and published online.
All respondents should be aware that the National Park Authority is subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, we therefore must consider releasing information about responses made to this consultation exercise on request.
Your data will be used by the National Park Authority and KMA only for the purposes of this consultation and will be destroyed when the revised Camping Management Byelaws have been implemented.
