Thinking about standing for local board member election?
Come along to a drop‑in session

If
you’re considering putting yourself forward as a Local Board Member for Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park – or you’re simply curious about what the role involves – our upcoming drop-in sessions
are a chance to hear directly from the people who know it best.

When and where

  • Online
    2nd June 2026 from 11am–12pm
Information to join the Zoom session will be shared once you register.Sign up now >

What you’ll get from the session

You’ll hear from current Board Members and staff about the work of the National Park Authority and the part the Board plays in shaping its future. They’ll talk through the responsibilities of the role, the challenges the next Board work through together, and the wider context the Authority is working in – from planning and visitor management to climate and nature recovery.

There will also be space for open conversation. Bring your questions about the nomination process, the time commitment, the support available, or anything else you want to understand before deciding whether to stand.

Why it’s worth coming along

These sessions are designed to give you a grounded, honest sense of what being a Board Member feels like. You’ll hear personal reflections from members about their own experiences and what they’ve taken from the role, as well as why a diverse, engaged Board matters.

If you’ve ever wondered whether your voice, skills or lived experience could make a difference, this is the place to find out.

Interested in becoming a candidate?

If you’re aged 21 or over and have the support of 10 people who live within one of our five wards within the National Park, you can stand as a candidate. Download a nomination pack, speak to staff, or ask for support with the process at any of our sessions.
