National Park slipway

Duncan Mills Memorial Slipway is located on the southern shore of Loch Lomond in the town of Balloch. The facility provides two slipways and a pontoon for the launch and retrieval of vessels, a staffed Boat Registration Office, a trailer park for use while using the site, toilets and showering facilities. The site is for the launch and retrieval of vessels only – it is not permitted to use the pontoon for mooring. Fees apply for the use of Duncan Mills Memorial Slipway:

Single launch and retrieval                           £25

Multiple Launch Pass (12 months)           £100

To help reduce queuing times we encourage all Loch users who need to apply for a new registration and those who have yet to re-register for 2022 to follow the guidance on our boat registration page.

Please take some time to read over the checklist and information below to make sure you know what to expect when using the slipway and to help your visit run as smoothly as possible.

Boat registration

Are you planning on using a motorised vessel on Loch Lomond? You’ll need to register it with us. We introduced Byelaws to increase safety on the water and to reduce the impact the National Park’s visitors have on the loch and its wildlife.
