Advice

If you’re not sure if you need permission, or need further guidance, have a look at our advice pages where you’ll find resources to help you understand the different stages of the planning process and how to request pre-application advice from our team. You can also find advice on the information and details required to be submitted with your application in the guidance note on the national standards for the validation of planning and other related consents in Scotland produced as a best practice guide by Heads of Planning Scotland.

Before you submit an application, have you considered our Local Development Plan and relevant guidance, including our Design and Placemaking guidance? These documents contain important considerations when designing your proposal that are key for a successful application.

PAS offers a free, impartial and confidential planning advice service, provided by specialist volunteers, all of whom are chartered planners.
